Information We Collect

SwingMate collects the minimum information necessary to deliver accurate swing analysis and a personalised user experience. We collect two categories of data:

• Account information — when you register, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
• Swing session data — biomechanical metrics computed from your swing video frames (head stability, spine angle, hip rotation, shoulder turn, swing tempo, knee flex, club path, and power loading). Raw video is never transmitted or stored on our servers.
• Device & usage data — app version, device model, operating system, crash logs, and anonymised usage analytics to help us improve the product.
• Purchase information — subscription status and plan type. Full payment details are handled exclusively by Apple and are never accessible to SwingMate.

How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

• Providing real-time swing analysis and generating AI-powered insights via our analysis endpoint.
• Storing your swing history locally on your device so you can track progress over time.
• Authenticating your account and managing your subscription status.
• Sending transactional communications (e.g. password reset, subscription confirmation).
• Diagnosing bugs and improving app stability through anonymised crash reports.
• Improving our AI models using aggregated, fully anonymised swing metric data — never individual identifiable sessions.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.

Data Storage & Security

Your swing history and preferences are stored locally on your device using SQLite. Account credentials and session tokens are stored on our secure server at bljwn.com, protected by industry-standard TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest.

We implement access controls, regular security reviews, and audit logging to protect against unauthorised access. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by applicable law.

Camera & Biometric Data

SwingMate requires access to your device camera to perform swing analysis. Camera access is used solely to detect body pose landmarks in real time using MediaPipe Pose running entirely on-device.

Computed pose landmarks (numerical coordinates) are processed locally to calculate your swing metrics. These landmark coordinates are not transmitted to our servers and are not retained after your session ends unless you choose to save a swing.

The metric scores derived from your swing (e.g., hip rotation: 74%) do not constitute biometric identifiers as defined under applicable privacy law, as they cannot be used to uniquely identify you.

Third-Party Services

SwingMate integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Apple App Store & StoreKit — manages all in-app purchases and subscription billing. SwingMate receives only your subscription status and an anonymous App Store receipt. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's CDN when using the web version. See Google's Privacy Policy.

In-App Purchases

SwingMate offers subscription plans (Monthly and Yearly) and a Lifetime access option, all processed securely through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We never receive or store your credit card or payment details.

Upon a successful purchase, Apple notifies SwingMate of your subscription status. We store your plan type and expiry date locally on your device and on our server to restore your access across reinstalls.

Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple through the App Store. We are unable to process refunds directly.

Data Retention

We retain different types of data for different periods:

• Account data — retained for as long as your account is active, plus 30 days after account deletion to allow for recovery.
• Swing session data — stored locally on your device indefinitely until you delete it or uninstall the app.
• Crash & analytics logs — anonymised logs retained for up to 12 months.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated server-side data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to certain processing activities, including profiling.
• Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 11. We will respond within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

SwingMate is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

Users aged 13–17 should obtain parental consent before using SwingMate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of SwingMate after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If you disagree with the changes, you may delete your account at any time.
